My Wales Trip

I took a trip with my sister, to Great Britain to visit, for a week, a wonderful friend of my sister and myself.  We didn't know what to expect, and we were pleasantly surprised by everything there.  The people of Wales, (the one's we met anyway), are very polite sweet people.  Our friend told us there are posh people who are quite rude, but we didn't meet any of them that I know of.  I thank her for leading us to the right people.  hehe!

The scenery was hard to actually see from the roads because of all the hedges, (I've got plenty of blurred pictures of hedges. lol)  But I'll post some very nice pictures of some scenes we saw there.

We got to try some good food,  which is slightly different than ours here in America, but good nevertheless.  Bacon is very different than ours by being broader strips (more like long Canadian Bacon, to us.   Bread is thicker, tea is much better in the UK.  lol  They've got tons of different kinds of candy bars, and chocolate, and sweets.  I loved the potato crisps, (or chips to us in the US), they have different flavors than we do...including chicken flavor, prawn flavor, and others.

The McDonald's there was interesting.  I got a Big & Tasty over there, and compared to ours, it was fantastically HUGE!  Being at least 6" across, the meat was the same size.  They also get a mix of treats, where we get only cookies.  They even had something like a drop cookie in theirs made completely of Cadbury's chocolate.   Almost everything was Cadbury's chocolate.  Fantastic!  I love the flavor of it!

I loved all of the homes, each paying so much attention to their beautiful gardens.  That is something I can say about British people, they love their gardens with passion.  Hardly having lawns at all, like we Americans pride ourselves on our green lawns.

The car rides were very fun, the roads are everywhere, winding up and down hills, and narrow lanes.  Fun Fun Fun!!!!

Touching the Irish Sea was fun too.  I smelled it, so fresh and nice.  I love the Sea.  We thought it was the Atlantic Ocean...then the North Sea.  From the map, it was the Irish Sea.  But it was still the Sea, and that is all I cared about...being with friends, and being around the sea, and seeing things I've never seen before.  It was an awesome journey.  And I thank Pauline & Samantha from all my heart for letting us stay with them...it was almost too much to ask.  We had so much fun tho, but leaving was a sad event.

God Bless You Both.

On to the pictures....

Any Beatles fan will tell you why I took this picture.  lol

Irish Sea with a seagull.

This is a Castle I took off my video camcorder.  I should have taken more shots...I believe that this is a hotel now.   And the time isn't accurate, it's set to American central time zone.

We visited a restaurant on this river, and watched the boats go by...and the next picture is of some sheep that a sheerer came to pick out of the little herd, and put them in a truck.  I watched them grabbing the sheep while I was eating inside.  You can spend a few days on these boats, and go all the way down the river in one.  I forget how long it takes...18 hours or so.

This is Rhuddland Castle, and is in the middle of town where my friends live.  We explored this, (one of the oldest castles), while we were first there.

Getting late in the day...but the view was breathtaking.

I love this shot of the Windmills there.  These are for Power, and serve their purpose well.

Here is a street in Rhuddland.

A duplex, and notice that they are different on both sides...yet the same.  I was told, no two houses are alike here.

This is an old church, and it's told that a small girl haunts the cemetery some nights.  We walked right in the path of where she is said to walk on the other side of this church. Creepy.  lol

This is the Guard Post at Rhuddland Castle.  On the other side of the river is sheep.  A common site is Sheep and Dairy Cows, but I did see a few horses here and there.

This is part of the Mote...and I was told they use to hold archery tournaments down in the mote area.  Good place for it.

Another shot of Rhuddland Castle.

We went back to Rhuddland Castle one night, and I took these odd shots, not sure about all these orb-like...well, you can decide.  All I can tell you, is that we couldn't see a thing inside of this castle.  We were in pitch black conditions, and my flash was the only thing casting light inside this place.  Nevertheless, we got so scared...but we started out that way.  We snuck inside around midnight, and this is what we got on my digital.  Not all of the shots had these strange orb-like things, but a lot did.

What do you think they are?  Camera trick? I didn't know what was going on.  My camera is an Olympus digital camera (Camedia Digital Camera C-700 Ultra Zoom) Olympus Optical Zoom 10X.  If you know what happened, please send me ideas or suggestions to stop this weird phenomenon.  It's quite creepy.

This shot was taken before the one above...just before, but my flash has to warm up before it'll flash again...so I'd say a few seconds difference...and I was moving a bit.

This was exiting.  The lights in the distance are a town way off in the distance.  The odd shape below the bright orb thing is the Guard Post. from further up on this page.  Basically the same view too.

I have a lot more shots of that dark night...I'll get some more shots soon.  :-)
